We were asked by an acute provider to undertake a brief review of several local pricing issues. These had been subject to some discussion with their commissioners over the years and now required an independent review to set out the proposed way ahead:
- services that had been based on Reference Costs that needed updating to 2015/16 data and benchmarking against a peer group
- services under various ‘fixed block’ funding arranegments that required reviewing to confirm whether they could be considered additional to national tariff
- miscellaneous contractual disputes over counting and coding changes, audits into outpatient procedure coding, etc.
We provided a brief independent report for the Trust in a format that could be shared as required.
