When the Department of Health recently published 2010/11 Reference Costs, we were asked by the National Cancer Action Team (NCAT) to produce a review of radiotherapy reference costs.
This was an update to previous reports we had undertaken, an analysis of 2009/10 Reference Costs in March 2011 and a review of costing and tariffs based on 2008/09 Reference Costs in July 2010.
These reports provide an overview of the data available from reference costs and calculates key ratios by provider. They then assess the usefulness of reference cost data in calculating tariffs that could be employed in commissioning radiotherapy services.
